OUHK 30-Hour Famine

社会科学系 Experiential Learning Voluntary Service OUHK 30-Hour Famine

Introduction

It has always been the OUHK's mission to engage with society and looking for practical solutions to social problems often begins with understanding the world around us. On the University's 30th anniversary, the School of Arts and Social Sciences teamed up with the student-run Social Service Society to hold a 30-Hour Famine programme (饑饉30) on 23–24 February 2019 to raise funds for World Vision Hong Kong. The event was designed to explore the struggles of refugees and asylum seekers with hunger and poor living conditions far and near. In addition to experiencing the meaning of hunger firsthand, participants visited local asylum seekers, took part in experimental activities, etc.
