學生證今天到期，畢業證書也剛領取了，象徵「學生」這個身份的完結，以及另一個身份的開始（其實已經開始了3個半月） ，希望在這個時候整頓一下，把重要的人和事記下。
我中學畢業後，選擇了一所社區學院升讀副學士。起初的時候，「A」要達多少分等什麼都不知道，渾渾噩噩中渡過第一個學期，成績也強差人意，炒了兩科數學。我一向數學不好，生疏了很多，讀得實在有心無力。
那時感到好徬徨，萌生放棄念頭，又不知道怎向家人交代，只好繼續下去。Sem2後開始慢慢進入狀態，壓力卻十分大，一方面要加倍努力Retake數學，家裡也發生一些不愉快事件，身心疲累，無論如何，我都咬緊牙關撐過了這段人生中至今最黑暗的日子。
幸好學習上漸入佳境，有朋友幫助，自己也努力，每日操練最少5個鐘。到了出GPA的那個晚上，整晚的心情都忐忑不安。時間到了，深呼吸後按下鍵盤上的F5，結果螢光幕出現了一個「A」，我整個人都呆了，有點頭暈的感覺，完全不相信自己的眼睛，所以再F5了一次，再次出現那個「A」。
副學士第二年，有很多人放棄了，但有更加多人繼續為入U奮鬥，而我內心那團火也被喚起，首次為了一件事而把自己chur盡。報了幾間UGC大學，最後都沒有回音，本來打算找工作，後來見到MU招生，面試後又被取錄，便決定給自己一個機會。
升上大學後，感覺有點空虛，好像沒有了奮鬥目標，加上有些外人對MU的誤解，所以開始頹。
不過，後來有一班同學改變了我的想法，他們上堂永遠都坐最前的一兩排、好認真做筆記，連放break／下課的時間也不放過，趁機問書。他們的上進心感染了我，令我明白「英雄莫問出處」，我漸漸接受MU學生這個身份，而且開始享受沒有包袱、最自由的學習。
大學最後一年，只感覺時間不夠用，assignments、group projects、mid-term tests都比上年多了，溫習時間亦因課程內容多了而增加，加上還有final year project、番part-time，下學期更要準備CV、找工作、甚至見工，忙得不可開交。
找工作時，主要有一個煩惱：technical抑或non-technical。第一次面試是大約4月中的時候收到電話，邀請我去面試Business Analyst (BA) Trainee。面試表現不太好，自此知道non-technical不適合自己。確知沒有結果後，便透過agent找programmer的工作，這次面試表現有點改進。即日也再收到另一間公司電話邀請面試，agent又有另外一份，這時候心想還有很多機會不用灰，再準備一下吧。
怎料，隔天預備考試的時候，agent再來電話：「恭喜你！間公司俾左個offer你，而家想問你會唔會accept個offer…」收到offer後感覺自己似發緊夢，沒有想過面試了2次就收到offer，興奮到沒有心情溫書。
這4年經歷了很多，也有很多體會，可以用這句話概括：
「不是因為見到希望才堅持下去，而是因為堅持下去才見到希望。」

Jonathan handles all external affairs include business development, patents write up and public relations. He is frequently interviewed by media and is considered a pioneer in 3D printing products.
After graduating from OUHK, Krutz obtained an M.Sc. in Engineering Management from CityU. He is now completing his second master degree, M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, at CUHK. Krutz has a wide range of working experience. He has been with Siemens, VTech, and PCCW.
Hugo Leung Wai-yin, who graduated from his four-year programme in 2015, won the Best Paper Award for his ‘intelligent pill-dispenser’ design at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering’s International Conference on Consumer Electronics – China 2015.
The pill-dispenser alerts patients via sound and LED flashes to pre-set dosage and time intervals. Unlike units currently on the market, Hugo’s design connects to any mobile phone globally. In explaining how it works, he said: ‘There are three layers in the portable pillbox. The lowest level is a controller with various devices which can be connected to mobile phones in remote locations. Patients are alerted by a sound alarm and flashes. Should they fail to follow their prescribed regime, data can be sent via SMS to relatives and friends for follow up.’ The pill-dispenser has four medicine slots, plus a back-up with a LED alert, topped by a 500ml water bottle. It took Hugo three months of research and coding to complete his design, but he feels it was worth all his time and effort.
Hugo’s public examination results were disappointing and he was at a loss about his future before enrolling at the OUHK, which he now realizes was a major turning point in his life. He is grateful for the OUHK’s learning environment, its industry links and the positive guidance and encouragement from his teachers. The University is now exploring the commercial potential of his design with a pharmaceutical company. He hopes that this will benefit the elderly and chronically ill, as well as the society at large.
Soon after completing his studies, Hugo joined an automation technology company as an assistant engineer. He is responsible for the design and development of automation devices. The target is to minimize human labor and increase the quality of products. He is developing products which are used in various sections, including healthcare, manufacturing and consumer electronics.
