Founded in 2003, Hong Kong Chapter of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (former Neural Network Society) is to participate, coordinate and support work in the field of Computational Intelligence, including various areas.

The FYP competition held by IEEE HK is widely recognized and involves many student from various Universities to participate and contest.

Students would submit their distinguished FYP project to the competition and present their achievements in front of the committee members of IEEE HK.

The Student Paper Contest held by IEEE HK is widely recognized and involves many student from various Universities to participate and contest.

Students would publish and submit their distinguished research literatures to the contest and win the prize if they are given an outstanding score.

2021	Prof. Andrew Lui and Prof. Vanessa Ng received the Best Paper Award in the International Conference on Open and Innovative Education (ICOIE) 2021.
2021	Dr. Henry Leung obtained the Gold Prize of Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust Outstanding Research Publication Award (舒小佩慈善基金傑出研究著作獎).
2018	Dr. Jeff Tang was appointed the Chairperson of IEEE Hong Kong Section Computer Society Chapter.
2016	The Computing Programme Team won the President’s Awards for Distinguished Achievement for the quality of curriculum and extra-curriculum design and achievements of her students.
2016	Dr. Andrew Lui and Dr. Vanessa Ng received President’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
2014	Dr. TS Li was appointed the Director of the Institute for Research in Innovative Technology and Sustainability (IRITS).
2014	Dr. Oliver Au was appointed the Chairperson of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) HK Chapter.
2012	The Computing Programme Team received the Bronze Award in the HK ICT Awards 2012 Professional Development Category for the development of the postgraduate programme Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications (MSCITIA).
2012	Dr. Andrew Lui received 2012 IBM Faculty Award for recognition of the quality of the program and its importance to the industry.
2003	Dr. Vanessa Ng and Dr. Steven Choy received President’s Awards for Distinguished Achievement for their research project in teaching of computer programming.
