General |
1.1 |
These regulations are made under paragraph 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees and paragraphs 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates. |
1.2 |
In these regulations definitions shall apply as in the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees and Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates and in the Interpretation Section of the Academic Rules and Regulations. |
1.3 |
The Regulations Governing the Articulation of Qualifications shall apply for conversion of the Postgraduate Cerificate in Enterprise Computing, Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology, and Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications to the award of Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications. |
2. |
Entry Requirements |
2.1 |
To enter the Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology or Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications or the Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications programme, a student shall normally possess: |

2.1.1 |
a recognized degree in computing or related fields (see note 1 to Table 1) or its equivalent; or |
|
2.1.2 |
a recognized degree in mathematics, science or engineering with a minor in computing or related fields (see note 1 to Table 1) or its equivalent; or |
|
2.1.3 |
a recognized degree in mathematics, science or engineering plus one year working experience in information technology; or |
|
2.1.4 |
a recognized degree in any area with substantial (at least five years) working experience at supervisory level in information technology; or |
|
2.1.5 |
a qualification equivalent to the OUHK’s Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology (PCIT). |
3. |
Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology (PCMIT) (See Note 4) |
3.1 |
To be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology, a student shall: |

3.1.1 |
comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and |
|
3.1.2 |
comply with the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates; and |
|
3.1.3 |
obtain at least 20 credits in courses at Postgraduate level prescribed by the regulations as appropriate to the postgraduate certificate for which notice has been given. |
3.2 |
For the Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology, the University has prescribed that a student must: |

3.2.1 |
successfully complete 10 credits from the compulsory course labelled CM in Table 1; and |
|
3.2.2 |
successfully complete 10 credits from courses labelled IE in Table 1. |
4. |
Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications (PDITA) (See Note 4) |
4.1 |
To be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications, a student shall: |

4.1.1 |
comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and |
|
4.1.2 |
comply with the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates; and |
|
4.1.3 |
obtain at least 40 credits in courses at Postgraduate level prescribed by the regulations as appropriate to the postgraduate diploma for which notice has been given. |
4.2 |
For the Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications, the University has prescribed that a student must: |

4.2.1 |
successfully complete 40 credits from compulsory courses labelled PD in Table 1. |
5. |
Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications (MSCITIA) (See Note 4) |
5.1 |
To be eligible for the award of the Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications, a student shall: |

5.1.1 |
comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and |
|
5.1.2 |
comply with the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees; and |
|
5.1.3 |
obtain at least 60 credits in courses at Postgraduate level prescribed by the regulations as appropriate to the master of science degree for which notice has been given. |
5.2 |
For the Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications, the University has prescribed that a student must successfully complete 60 credits from courses in Table 1, of which at least 20 credits must be labelled IA or PJ. |
