Two OUHK teams, comprising Year 3 students Wong Chun-cheung, Lau Wai-ho and Yiu Fat-chuen from the full-time programme of Computer Engineering, as well as Year 2 students Wong Lai-shan, Lai Fung-ping and Jason Wu Wing-yiu from the full-time programme in Computing, won second prizes in the Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling. They were led by Associate Professor Dr Anita Wong and were among the 17,287 teams from universities in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Australia and mainland China taking part in the competition. The Contest, organized by the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, required each team to develop within three days a mathematical and/or computer model to solve a simplified real-world problem in engineering or management.
