梁伟贤, Leung Wai-yin Hugo

电子及计算机工程学荣誉工学士

Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Electronic and Computer Engineering

梁伟贤于2015年毕业四年制课程,在2015年中国电气与电子工程学会消费电子国际会议上,他的「智慧药丸分配器」设计获得了最佳论文奖。

药丸分配器通过声音和LED闪烁提醒患者预设剂量和时间间隔。与目前市场上的产品不同,梁伟贤的设计可以连接到全球任何手机。在解释它是如何工作的时,他说:「便携式碉堡有三层。最低级别是具有各种设备的控制器,这些设备可以连接到远程位置的移动电话。患者通过声音警报和闪烁发出警报。如果他们不遵守规定的制度,可以通过简讯将数据发送给亲戚和朋友进行跟进。药丸分配器有四个药槽,加上一个带LED警报的备用,顶部是一个500毫升的水瓶。雨果花了三个月的研究和编码来完成他的设计,但他觉得这是值得他所有的时间和精力。

梁伟贤的公开考试成绩令人失望,他在报读公开大学之前对自己的未来感到茫然,他现在意识到这是他人生中的一个重大转折点。他感谢公开大学的学习环境、行业联系,以及老师们的积极指导和鼓励。该大学现在正在与一家制药公司一起探索他的设计的商业潜力。他希望这将有利于老年人和慢性病患者,以及整个社会。

完成学业后不久,梁伟贤加入了一家自动化技术公司,担任助理工程师。

谢江海, Tse Kong-hoi

工程管理工程学硕士

谢江海在中五毕业后离开学校,后悔在进入职场时没有认真对待学业。为了弥补这一点,他在煤气公司当学徒时完成了兼职高级文凭课程。2007年,他向着获得大学学位的梦想迈出了一步,报读了香港公开大学的计算机工程学位课程,并在短短三年内完成了学业。在学习期间,他曾两次受雇于香港铁路公司,然后受雇于海洋公园,从事机器维修工作。毕业后,他从老东家汤加斯那里得到了一份工作机会。

在培训主任的新职位上,谢江海负责培训学徒和技术人员,并需要不时与政府官员和工程师打交道。为了进一步发展,他决定在导师的全力支持下攻读工程管理硕士学位。谢江海于2016年毕业。

这位学徒转为学徒培训师非常感谢香港都会大学第二次获得更高资格的机会,这为他的职业道路开辟了许多机会。

张金华, Cheung Kam-wah

能源及环境的可持续发展理学硕士

张金华博士是富士通香港有限公司电信部总经理。他于2011年获得公开大学能源与环境可持续发展理学硕士学位。次年,他进一步参加了我们的工程博士课程,继续学习能源管理并于2015年毕业。

他偏爱我们的远程学习计划的一个原因是,它们是与各行各业的人建立联系的绝佳平台。“我的许多同学都是大公司的管理人员。其他人来自以环境保护为使命的非政府组织。我们经常自由地交换意见,我们都从中受益,“他解释说。他同样对教员的专业精神印象深刻,更不用说课程的全面性和实用性。这些正是他工作所需要的。

张博士的客户包括大型企业、电信公司和金融机构。他的客户越来越关注环境保护。他熟悉环境保护,在与客户沟通方面具有优势。同时,在招标过程中进行投标时,拥有相关的专有技术是一个明显的优势。这些课程涉及该学科的各个方面,并在工作中打开了他的思想。2013年,他的学术成就为他赢得了杰出学生奖。

Krutz Cheuk

After graduating from OUHK, Krutz obtained an M.Sc. in Engineering Management from CityU. He is now completing his second master degree, M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, at CUHK. Krutz has a wide range of working experience. He has been with Siemens, VTech, and PCCW.

Hugo Leung

Hugo Leung Wai-yin, who graduated from his four-year programme in 2015, won the Best Paper Award for his ‘intelligent pill-dispenser’ design at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering’s International Conference on Consumer Electronics – China 2015.

The pill-dispenser alerts patients via sound and LED flashes to pre-set dosage and time intervals. Unlike units currently on the market, Hugo’s design connects to any mobile phone globally. In explaining how it works, he said: ‘There are three layers in the portable pillbox. The lowest level is a controller with various devices which can be connected to mobile phones in remote locations. Patients are alerted by a sound alarm and flashes. Should they fail to follow their prescribed regime, data can be sent via SMS to relatives and friends for follow up.’ The pill-dispenser has four medicine slots, plus a back-up with a LED alert, topped by a 500ml water bottle. It took Hugo three months of research and coding to complete his design, but he feels it was worth all his time and effort.

Hugo’s public examination results were disappointing and he was at a loss about his future before enrolling at the OUHK, which he now realizes was a major turning point in his life. He is grateful for the OUHK’s learning environment, its industry links and the positive guidance and encouragement from his teachers. The University is now exploring the commercial potential of his design with a pharmaceutical company. He hopes that this will benefit the elderly and chronically ill, as well as the society at large.

Soon after completing his studies, Hugo joined an automation technology company as an assistant engineer. He is responsible for the design and development of automation devices. The target is to minimize human labor and increase the quality of products. He is developing products which are used in various sections, including healthcare, manufacturing and consumer electronics.
