Biography
Dr Eva Tsang obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Chinese (First Class Honours) from Lingnan University (formerly Lingnan College) and a Master of Education in Educational Technology from the University of Wales, UK and subsequently acquired a Doctor of Philosophy in Instructional Design for Online Learning from the Capella University, US. She also received her Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) in Adult Education from the University of Hong Kong and a Diploma in Web-based Multimedia Technology from the City University of Hong Kong.
Dr Tsang started her career as a teacher, programme administrator and editor of distance learning materials at Caritas Adult & Higher Education Service. She joined Hong Kong Metropolitan University HKMU (formerly The Open University of Hong Kong, OUHK) as a Course Designer. In 2007, she was appointed as Senior Course Designer, and later as Deputy Director (Learning and Teaching) in 2013.
With over 20 years of professional experience in HKMU, Dr Tsang has contributed her expertise in instructional design, development and delivery of distance and open learning courses, the establishment of a quality assurance system to produce distance learning materials, as well as planning and managing in-house developed TV programmes and promotional videos for the University. She has been in charge of the provision of a total online, blended and mobile learning environment for learners of the HKMU and innovative use of educational technology in learning and teaching. During 2007 to 2012, she was concurrently appointed as the Project Director of the University's Centre for Innovation.
Dr Tsang has also conducted and organized a series of training workshops on course development, instructional design, eLearning, blended learning and mobile learning for internal staff and distance education planners and practitioners from external institutions.
