Prof. Ricky Kwok Yu-kwong, Vice-President (Research and Student Development) of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, and a team of HKMU professors from the School of Arts & Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business & Administration, School of Nursing and Health Studies, and School of Science & Technology visited the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) on 10 October for knowledge exchange. They shared the latest developments of the University in various research areas, such as application of molecular profiling, genotyping & genetic variation analysis in human diseases, quality management systems, computer & network security, digital health and arts technology, etc.

Ir Dr Joseph NG, the Chief Technology Officer of ASTRI and ASTRI scientific research team also introduced the development of its scientific research ecosystem, health technologies, digital twins, Industry 4.0 and art innovation technologies. The two sides discussed the collaboration opportunities in different areas to promote cooperation among industry, academia & research, explore new opportunities for commercialisation of scientific research, and the feasibility of shortening the research & development timeframe, with a view to perfecting the R&D ecosystem in Hong Kong.
