To celebrate the University's 35th anniversary, HKMU held “HKMU Campus Run 2024” on 20 October (Sunday) on the Ho Man Tin campus, bringing together about 200 students, staff and alumni to promote physical and mental health while enjoying the fun of running.
Despite a light drizzle before starting, the runners were still very excited about the run. President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing cheered on the runners and emphasised that regular exercise is an important part of HKMU’s campus culture. He said: “I'm delighted to see so many HKMUers gathered here. I hope this event will serve as a reminder of the importance of regular exercise. Even when facing a busy schedule of studies and work, everyone should still find time for exercise to help release stress and maintain their physical and mental health.”
On top of being an important part of the University’s anniversary celebrations, the run aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage more students and staff to take part in sports, bringing vitality and positive energy to the campus. Participants could participate individually or on teams in the approximately 2.5 km run around the three University campuses in Ho Man Tin. Some participants even brought along their children to support the event on-site.
