HKMU Academic and Creative Achievements Exhibition highlights academic research excellence
Fifteen scholars from Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) were recently ranked among the top 2% of most-cited scientists worldwide by a research team from Stanford University. The list reflects and recognises the remarkable impact of the research output of HKMU scholars.
This year marks the third consecutive year of growth in the number of scholars named on the list, with an increase from five scholars three years ago to 15 this year. It highlights the University's increasing research strengths and international recognition, which supports the foundation of its diverse academic disciplines.
The analysis complied by Stanford University is separated into two lists, based on scholars' career-long (1960-2023) and single-year (2023) impact, to reflect their lifetime achievement and recent research impact respectively. The HKMU scholars on the lists are as follows (by alphabetical order of surname):
School of Arts and Social Sciences |
|
Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration |
|
School of Nursing and Health Sciences |

The list of the top 2% of most-cited scientists includes the most influential scholars from all over the world in 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields. It is based on bibliometric data from Scopus, which considers factors such as number of citations and authorship. Further details and the list published by Stanford University are available here.
