Last month, the School of Science and Technology (the School) signed two agreements with Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) and Hong Yip Service Limited (Hong Yip) respectively. The School will strength partnership and collaboration in innovation and technology (I&T) with EMSD, while Hong Yip will provide internship and training opportunities for HKMU students.
The Memorandum of Co-operation (MOC) between EMSD and the School was signed during the E&M I&T Day 2022 cum Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Co-operation. Witnessed by Dean of the School of Science and Technology Ir Prof. Phillips Wang Fu-lee and Director of EMSD Mr Pang Yiu-hung, the MOC was signed by Associate Dean of School of Science and Technology Prof. Fred Lee Wang-fat and Deputy Director/ Trading Services of EMSD Mr Cheung Yuen-fong.
HKMU will make good use of the E&M InnoPortal to facilitate the exchange of knowledge in I&T to build a smart city. This collaboration will allow the University to better understand the needs of the society and users, which will help the School share research results that will benefit the Hong Kong public by developing people-oriented technologies.
The School also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hong Yip Service Company Ltd. earlier to support education and training for students of the civil engineering and building services engineering programmes. The MOU was signed by Dean of the School of Science and Technology Ir Prof. Phillips Wang Fu-lee and Senior Training and Development Manager of Hong Yip Ms Marian Jim Fung-yan and witnessed by HKMU Provost Prof. Reggie Kwan Ching-ping and Head of Human Resources and Administration of Hong Yip Dr Aaron Chiang Sai-yuen. Under the agreement, Hong Yip will provide internship and management training opportunities for HKMU students in shopping malls and residential buildings managed by the company.
