The HKMU School of Arts and Social Sciences (A&SS) presented the first-ever university-wide culture and performing arts show, titled “Stories of Love”, on campus on 19 September, starting a new tradition for the University. In celebration of love, hope and diversity, “Stories of Love” was expressed by students from different Schools through English and Chinese drama, music, and dance performances, ranging from traditional Chinese fan dance to K-pop.

The students also showed their affection for HKMU by singing together the student anthem “We Are All HKMU”, with lyrics written by A&SS Professor Octavian Saiu and music composed by HKMU student Joanalene Mallari, jointly with student from another institution Hanz David Kong, conveying the message, “It's me, it's her, it's him, it's you! And we are all HKMU!” The message echoes the University's symbols “M” and “U”, which represent the connection between the University, its students and society.
A&SS Dean Prof. Charles Kwong remarked that the aim of the theme of the show, “Stories of Love”, was to shower HKMU students with humanistic values, such as love and inclusiveness, and encourage them to be ambassadors to spread the message. “The evening has added a new dimension to student life at HKMU,” he added. “By taking part in organizing this talent show, the students have seen how working together can accomplish something seemingly unachievable at first sight.”
Not only did the show fully showcase the students' broad range of talent, but it also provided the audience with an enjoyable evening.
