Apart from excelling in major business case competitions, A-Team students of the HKMU Business School are also known for their versatility, community spirit and commitment to achieving the best. On 14 January 2024, they took part enthusiastically in the ACCA Community Day, the association's flagship fundraising event in support of local charitable organisations. The annual event is distinguished by a signature rickshaw race, and the theme of 2024 was “120 Years of Impact: Run Ahead to a Sustainable Future”.
The A-Team students participated either as part the rickshaw team or the cheering team. Adding to the fun of the event was a Rickshaw Teams Costume Parade. In response to this year's theme, the HKMU team created a set of floral patterned costumes from garbage bags to raise awareness about the importance of recycling, convincing the judges to present it with the Outstanding Costume Award.
The team kept the momentum in the rickshaw race that followed. With four pullers and two assistants carrying a passenger on the rickshaw, they finished as the third fastest team among contestants of the ACCA Chairman Tertiary Cup to the vigorous cheers of their teammates, who also secured the second runner-up place of the Outstanding Cheering Team Award.
