In collaboration with the Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Hong Kong Metropolitan University organised a trip on 23 and 24 May with 30 students and alumni to explore the development of Zhongshan through visits to numerous entrepreneurial incubation centres, corporations and renowned attractions.

The delegates visited the Shenzhen–Zhongshan Bridge project, set to be commissioned in late June, the Zhongshan Cuiheng New Area Planning Hall, and local enterprises in the area, such as Hongrita Mould Engineering Company. During the trip, the participants learned more about the infrastructure, the application of advanced technology in production by local companies, and career development opportunities in the area. While visiting traditional food factories in Zhongshan, namely Shiu Heung Yuen Bakery and Guangdong Meiweixian Flavoring Foods Company, the delegates even had the opportunity to make their own almond cookies, which provided a memorable experience for them.

Zhongshan is committed to providing Hong Kong young people with comprehensive entrepreneurial support and preferential policies to encourage them to work or start a business in the city. In their visit to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Platform of Zhongshan City, the delegates met with several entrepreneurs, who shared their stories about starting up a business, inspiring the students to view career development and entrepreneurship from a fresh perspective.
