Details:
Guo Hongyu, a graduate of the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese programme, participated in writing two news articles named《想‧創能系列》and 《超能材料系列》during her service in Wen Wei Po as an education reporter. The two series were awarded the second runner-up (Year 2020) and the Merit Award (Year 2021) respectively in the “Best Science News Reporting” section of the “Hong Kong News Awards”.
The news series in 2020 reported various new clean energy technologies in the world with an aim to raise the public’s awareness of environmental protection. The 2021 series introduced how Hong Kong scientists have extracted, refined, integrated and re-designed different innovative materials to allow readers to learn science from a more diverse perspective.
The annual “Hong Kong News Awards”, organized by The Newspaper Society of Hong Kong, is an authoritative industry event which aims at recognizing the achievements of outstanding journalists and raising professional standards of the industry.
