Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Platform of Zhongshan City (e-Park) recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that offers HKMU students more opportunities for entrepreneurship and career development in the Mainland. The MoU also marks the first cooperation by a Hong Kong higher-education institution with the platform.

The MoU was officially signed by Ms Adele Wan Tik-lam, HKMU Director of Student Affairs, and Ms Zhang Baohua, Head of e-Park, and was witnessed by Prof. Ricky Kwok, HKMU Vice President of Research and Student Development, and Ms Su Dan, Deputy Director of Zhongshan’s Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

According to the MoU, e-Park will offer free consultation services related to employment, entrepreneurship and living in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) for HKMU students and alumni, along with assistance for students interested in developing a career or starting a business in the Mainland.

The Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and HKMU will also organise a delegation comprising students and alumni to visit Zhongshan in late May. During the summer vacation, arrangements will be made for students to participate in a summer internship programme, involving over 200 internship vacancies with government and related bodies in Zhongshan, to facilitate better understanding of career development in the Mainland among HKMU students.
