Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and The Open University of the United Kingdom (OUUK) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration on academic research and exchanges between the two universities.
The MoU was signed by HKMU President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing and Pro Vice Chancellor Research and Innovation Prof. Kevin Shakesheff of OUUK. The MoU establishes a framework for enhanced collaboration between the two universities in various areas of academic research.
Prof. Lam said the MoU would further strengthen the close partnership between the two universities. “Over the years, HKMU has worked closely with OUUK, and we are delighted to deepen our collaboration,” he said. “Through strengthening our exchanges on academic research and leveraging each other's strengths in education technology, we hope to enhance the quality of teaching and learning and facilitate the mutual growth and development of the two institutions.”
Pro Vice Chancellor Research and Innovation Prof. Kevin Shakesheff said, “The Open University is incredibly proud of the successful partnership we have had with Hong Kong Metropolitan University for over 30 years. In signing this Memorandum of Understanding whilst we are visiting Hong Kong, we look forward to developing our academic collaboration and establishing new opportunities for staff and students from both institutions alike.”
