HKMU launches new career readiness programme to enhance students' soft skills in the workplace
The Student Affairs Office of Hong Kong Metropolitan University organized the HKMU Campus Run today (3 May) to encourage students and staff to do more exercises during the pandemic and to build a healthy and happy HKMU community.
The event was well received, with over 180 staff and students participating. Before the start of the run, HKMU President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing cheered on the participants. He said that this was the first time to organize the HKMU Campus Run and expected that it would be held annually.
“The University has put great emphasis on sports as it can help build up the team spirit among the university community towards a common goal. I hope everyone enjoys today's run and finishes it with a smiling face,” he remarked.
Prof. Lam then presented “The Most Active Participation Award” to Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, President’s Office and Human Resources Office to recognize their enthusiastic support towards the event.
With Vice President (Students and Support) Prof. Ricky Kwok Yu-kwong’s starting signal, the first and second group of runners led by Provost Prof. Reggie Kwan Ching-ping and Vice President (Resources and Development) Prof. Lui Yu-hon respectively set off on the 2.5km course. The participants were divided into groups of no more than three and each group was led by a member of the HKMU cross country team. They ran along a route spanning the three HKMU Ho Man Tin campus buildings, starting from the Jockey Club Campus, passing through the Main Campus and ending at the Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare.
