In the morning of 12 February, in a passionate atmosphere, the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) Marathon Team took part in the annual major sports event – the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon. Formed by 130 students, alumni and staff members, the team demonstrated the HKMU spirit of unity by wearing “HKMU Run to Achieve” t-shirts.

President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing joined the participants early in the morning at the Victoria Park starting point to cheer for them. “I’m delighted to see that the HKMU community rallied to participate in this large-scale sporting event,” said Prof. Lam. “It’s a display of perseverance and determination as all of us come together to achieve our goals.”

Prof. Lam and over 20 HKMU students formed a cheering team for the HKMU runners. In future sports events, Prof. Lam said he hopes to see more enthusiastic participation from the HKMU community to further enhance the team spirit and sense of belonging among students, alumni and staff. He also encouraged everyone to live a healthy lifestyle.
