HKMU Academic and Creative Achievements Exhibition highlights academic research excellence
The Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (DSE) results will soon be released. To cheer up the DSE candidates, the President, students and staff of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) took on a challenge from the University's cricket athletes to learn the sport from scratch. Their endeavours were filmed by an HKMU alumni team as a motivational video to encourage DSE candidates to rise to the challenge and go beyond their limits.
In the video, HKMU President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing, students and staff demonstrated their vigour, determination and perseverance in learning cricket. By taking on this challenge, Prof. Lam says he hopes to encourage DSE candidates to face setbacks and embrace the future with an open mind. “In the face of adversity, remain calm and confident, and reflect on your experience before forging ahead,” he said. “With the belief that life has infinite possibilities, if you dare to try, you will create your own way forward.”
Cricket is a lesser-known sport in Hong Kong. Established by the HKMU Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, the HKMU cricket team has actively participated in various competitions, promoting a culture of health, diversity and inclusivity.
