HKMU launches new career readiness programme to enhance students' soft skills in the workplace

Bamboos donates 50,000 COVID-19 rapid test kits to HKMU.
Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) received a generous donation of 50,000 COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits from Bamboos Health Care Holdings Limited (Bamboos) recently in supporting the University's anti-epidemic efforts.
HKMU President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing expressed his sincere thanks to Bamboos for the support. Prof. Lam mentioned that HKMU has taken a series of measures to safeguard the health of the university community since the coronavirus outbreak. Staff and students have also actively contributed in various ways to help the needy people fight against the virus. The generous donation from Bamboos is an encouragement and affirmation to HKMU, allowing the University to play a greater role in this battle.
Ms Winsome Hai Hiu-chu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bamboos, said that HKMU has spared no effort to stand at the forefront of the fight against the virus. Committed to corporate social responsibility, Bamboos hopes to navigate through the epidemic and overcome the disease with the University and community through this donation.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, HKMU staff and student volunteers have been supporting the community on various fronts to combat the virus. The efforts included donating protection packs to the people in need, involving in the frontline work at the COVID-19 facilities and nursing home, providing vaccination service for the elderly, and setting up support centre for the Hospital Authority COVID-19 hotline. Meanwhile, HKMU continues to uphold its education mission by offering online learning opportunities to primary and secondary school students during the pandemic.
