The Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and Sino Hotels Limited (Sino Hotels) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support and foster talent development for the hospitality and tourism industry.

The MoU was signed by Dean of the School Prof. Alan Au Kai-ming and Group Associate Director and Chief Human Resources Officer of Sino Group Elaine Liu. According to the MoU, both parties will work together to promote the growth of the hospitality and tourism industries. One key area of collaboration outlined in the MoU is the expansion of internship opportunities for HKMU students with Sino Group hotels, in not only Hong Kong, but also Singapore and Sydney.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Au expressed his gratitude to Sino Hotels for their past efforts in hosting HKMU students for internships, stating that the MoU would further strengthen the collaborative partnership between the two parties. “This MoU formalises our commitments moving forward,” he said. “We are honoured and excited to work more closely with Sino Group to provide better career prospects for our students and expand our contribution to the talent needs of Hong Kong, and perhaps beyond.”

Ms Liu also expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration between HKMU and Sino Hotels. “HKMU has done a very great job in preparing our students to be the top-notch contributors to our society,” she said. “On top of internships, Sino Hotels would also like to coordinate with HKMU on other projects to help cultivate a sustainable platform for young students to develop to their full potential.”
