Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) will host HKMU InfoDay on 5 November (Saturday). A wide range of activities, such as talks on programmes and admissions, campus tours, and guided lab tours, will be arranged. HKDSE students, parents and teachers are welcome to join.

During the event, the HKMU School of Arts and Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, School of Education and Languages, School of Nursing and Health Studies, and School of Science and Technology will arrange a series of programme information seminars and Q&A sessions. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the entrance requirements and features of their preferred programmes. In addition, an admissions talk will be organised by the Registry and the Student Affairs Office to provide information such as tips for JUPAS applicants, university life and scholarships.

A total of 44 programmes will be offered by HKMU in the 2023/24 academic year, including 18 programmes with 1,255 places under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP). This is the highest number of SSSDP places among all self-financed institutions. The University will offer two brand-new programmes: Bachelor of Science with Honours in Medical Laboratory Science (JSSU67) and Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours in Aviation Services Management (JS9223). The former is designed to prepare graduates for the medical laboratory field and provide students with comprehensive academic and professional training in medical laboratory science, while the latter equips students with theoretical knowledge, professional skills and work experience in the aviation service industry.

In addition, HKMU’s social sciences and psychology programmes will be restructured as broad-based programmes. Students will choose their stream after one year of study and then follow the respective programme curriculum. The Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours (JS9009) has five streams: Ageing Society and Services Studies, Applied Economics, Applied Social Studies, Global and China Studies, Politics and Public Administration and the Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology (JS9010) has two Streams: Psychology Major, Counselling Psychology.

To recognise academically outstanding and talented new students, HKMU offers a variety of prestigious entrance scholarships to students who attained 5* or 5** in the HKDSE, and other JUPAS applicants and outstanding athletes. Each scholarship recipient will receive up to HK$120,000.
