School of Arts and Social Sciences invites Secretary for Housing to discuss housing and home purchases with HKMU students

Hong Kong Metropolitan University's (HKMU) School of Arts and Social Sciences Public and Social Policy Research Centre and Think Tank New Era Governance Research Centre (NEGRC) jointly organised a forum on 16 May with the theme of facilitating property purchases for young people. HKMU alumna snatches Queen of the Buns title again

Nursing graduate Janet Kung Tsz-shan is passionate about sports. She has been participating in the Cheung Chau Bun Scrambling Competition since 2012. In 2019, she won the championship of the women's group and was crowned Queen of the Buns for the first time. This year, she scored 842 points, beating two other female finalists and triumphing again as Queen of the Buns. She was also the highest scorer among all contestants in the competition....

Two HKMU students awarded For Our Future Scholarship

Nursing student Cherie Fung Pui-wing and physiotherapy student Tammy Tam Ka-hei each received the For Our Future Scholarship from the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation. Cherie is an archery coach who is devoted to promoting mental health through teaching archery to others, while Tammy has established the “Fighting Cancer Platform” with her own anti-cancer experience to support patients by organising events and workshops and providing relevant information. With their outstanding academic performance and active participation in community service, they stood out among 250 applicants from 13 local institutions. They were each awarded a scholarship of HK$50,000 and the opportunity to participate in a Beijing exchange trip....

Over 1,100 distinguished HKMU students recognised in government scholarship scheme

A total of 1,102 HKMU full-time students were honoured in the HKSAR Government's Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS) this academic year, receiving a record-breaking total of HK$18.49 million. They were recognised in five award categories under the Scheme, with 244 receiving the Outstanding Performance Scholarship, 575 the Reaching Out Award, 163 the Talent Development Scholarship, 54 the Endeavour Scholarship, and 66 the Best Progress Award. Among them, five representatives attended the award presentation ceremony on 25 April....
