HKMU holds its first Psychology and Counselling Festival to promote psychological awareness and mental wellness

The Department of Social Sciences of the School of Arts and Social Sciences (A&SS) of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) hosted its first Psychology and Counselling Festival, “Illuminating the Future — Psychology and Counselling Festival 2024”, on 21 September on campus. Hong Kong Metropolitan University holds a flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China

First Government Career Fair at HKMU attracts nearly 1,500 students

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) held its first "Government Job Recruitment Exhibition 2024", in collaboration with the Civil Service Bureau of the HKSAR Government, on 19 September. The exhibition featured more than 25 civil service grades, including civilian grades, professional grades and disciplined services, with participation from 16 government bureaux and departments presenting job opportunities and recruitment arrangements. HKMU launches Hong Kong's first applied degree programme in gemmology and jewellery studies, aiming to nurture talent for the industry

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Intent between Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and the Asian Gemmological Institute and Laboratory (AGIL) in July to jointly promote the gemstone industry through education, training, testing, certification, research and industry development, HKMU recently held the “International Gemmological Conference 2024 and Launch Ceremony of Applied Degree Programme in Gemmology and Jewellery Studies”. The conference marked the introduction of Hong Kong's first applied degree programme in gemmology and jewellery studies, with the goal of nurturing more talent in testing, certification, research and industry development for the gemstone and jewellery industry of Hong Kong....

HKMU hosts alumni dinners in Hong Kong and Shenzhen to celebrate its 35th Anniversary

HKMU continues to rank first in the RGC research grant funding among self-financing institutions, with HK$34.5 million, amounting to 40% of the total funding

In the latest round of the Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local Self-financing Degree Sector of the Research Grants Council (RGC), Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) secured a total of about HK$34.5 million for 41 projects, amounting to 40% of the total RGC allocation, ranking HKMU first among all local self-financing institutions in terms of both funding amount and the number of projects for the second consecutive year....

HKMU receives a donation from China Resources Group to establish the “China Resources Corporate Governance Scholarship” to cultivate corporate governance talent

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) recently signed a donation agreement with China Resources Charitable Fund Limited (CRCF) to establish the “China Resources Corporate Governance Scholarship”, which will offer up to 10 scholarships in each of the five academic years from 2023/24 to 2027/28. The scholarships recognise outstanding postgraduate students who have excelled in the HKMU Master of Corporate Governance and Compliance programme and encourage them to pursue a career in corporate governance and company secretarial roles....

HKMU ranks first in the number of programmes and places in SSSDP among self-financing institutions

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) has been awarded 1,914 places in 20 programmes under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) for 2025/26 cohort - undergraduate programmes, announced by the Education Bureau today (10 September). HKMU accounts for nearly 40% of the total number of funded places, the largest share among the eight participating institutions....
