Graduate writing receives prestigious literary awards

Two HKMU graduates received accolades at the 50th Youth Literary Awards. Kwan Lok-yiu, who graduated with a Master's degree in Chinese Literature, won the second prize in the Literary Criticism section of the Open Group with an article analysing the illness metaphors in the late-career poems of Hong Kong writer Kwun Moon-nam. Noting that Kwun's poems often draw on his personal life experiences, the article demonstrates the poet's contemplation on the body, sickness and death in the face of two major changes in life, namely his mother's death and his own anxiety disorder in terms of narrative shifts, illness metaphors and his experimentation with Cantonese language....

Engineering student team named overall champion in GBA innovation project competition

In the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Tertiary Institution Innovation Project Invitational Competition organised by the HKIE, students from the in the Civil and Environmental Engineering and Electronic and Computer Engineering programmes teamed up with colleagues from Shenzhen Institute of Technology and took away a total of five prizes, including the Overall Championship, winning a scholarship of $10,000....

Animation and visual effects student's painting obtains grand prize at Japanese painting contest

Animation and visual effects student Chen Kam-san took part in the 28th Letter/Picture to Mt.Fuji Contest organised by the Fujinomiya-shi Government Office and the Fujinomiya-shi Board of Education of Japan. His magnificent art piece Torii & Fuji stood out and won the Grand Prize of the Painting/Drawing category in the High School Students and Adults group....

HKMU students receive Link University Scholarship

Seven HKMU students were awarded the Link University Scholarship for their outstanding academic results and proactive participation in community services. The awardees were invited to celebrate their achievements at the Link University Scholarship 2023 Presentation Ceremony held on 2 March, where they each received a scholarship of HK$20,000. The awarded students are automatically admitted to the Link Scholars Alumni scheme, through which Link will provide career counselling, corporate visits, volunteer activities and priority consideration to the company's internship programme....

HKMU invites the “Yao-Chinese Folktales” production team to Hong Kong for the first time to share their insights on animating Chinese mythology
