HKMU hosts Scholarships and Awards Gala to thank donors for HK$40 Million for scholarships benefiting over 1,700 students

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) recently held its 2023-24 Scholarships and Awards Gala to express its heartfelt gratitude and to present the outstanding performance of the scholarship recipients to long-term donors and organisations supporting HKMU. The 1st HKMU Distinguished Alumni Award honours four outstanding alumni

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) held its first Distinguished Alumni Award Presentation Ceremony and Banquet on 27 June to honour four awardees: renowned Chinese chess player Jet Chow Sai-kit, advanced medical practitioner Oscar Lee Ka-chun, Executive Director of the Hok Yau Club Leung Kwok-shing and LegCo member The Hon Edmund Wong Chun-sek. HKMU alumna snatches Queen of the Buns title again

Nursing graduate Janet Kung Tsz-shan is passionate about sports. She has been participating in the Cheung Chau Bun Scrambling Competition since 2012. In 2019, she won the championship of the women's group and was crowned Queen of the Buns for the first time. This year, she scored 842 points, beating two other female finalists and triumphing again as Queen of the Buns. She was also the highest scorer among all contestants in the competition....

Two HKMU students awarded For Our Future Scholarship

Nursing student Cherie Fung Pui-wing and physiotherapy student Tammy Tam Ka-hei each received the For Our Future Scholarship from the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation. Cherie is an archery coach who is devoted to promoting mental health through teaching archery to others, while Tammy has established the “Fighting Cancer Platform” with her own anti-cancer experience to support patients by organising events and workshops and providing relevant information. With their outstanding academic performance and active participation in community service, they stood out among 250 applicants from 13 local institutions. They were each awarded a scholarship of HK$50,000 and the opportunity to participate in a Beijing exchange trip....
