HKMU physiotherapy programme receives professional accreditation; graduates are qualified to practise as registered physiotherapists

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) has officially received professional accreditation from the Physiotherapists Board of the Supplementary Medical Professions Council (SMPC) for its four-year Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physiotherapy programme, which was launched in 2020 to meet strong demand for healthcare professionals in Hong Kong. The first cohort of graduates are now qualified to practise as registered physiotherapists in Hong Kong and can apply for full membership in the Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association....

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) held its first Distinguished Alumni Award Presentation Ceremony and Banquet on 27 June to honour four awardees: renowned Chinese chess player Jet Chow Sai-kit, advanced medical practitioner Oscar Lee Ka-chun, Executive Director of the Hok Yau Club Leung Kwok-shing and LegCo member The Hon Edmund Wong Chun-sek. HKMU and Pok Oi Hospital sign MoU to expand student internships and professional training opportunities

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pok Oi Hospital on June 7. This collaboration enables students from HKMU's School of Nursing and Health Studies to undertake internships at nursing homes, homes for the elderly and other day care centres operated by Pok Oi Hospital, thus gaining valuable clinical experience. The partnership will also enhance cooperation in academic research, professional programme development and other areas to cultivate outstanding nursing talent, jointly foster more nursing professionals for Hong Kong, and promote the development of the industry....

HKMU announces new organisation structure and Vice President appointments

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) announced a new organisational structure to reflect its strategic development and to further enhance its planning and management capabilities, with the appointment of Prof. Alan Au Kai-ming as Vice President (Strategic Initiatives) and Prof. Charles Kwong Che-leung as Vice President (Administration and Corporate Development).
