Literary works of MA in Creative Writing students published
The literary works of a graduate and a student from the Master of Arts in Creative Writing programme were recently published in different channels. Fresh graduate Jiang Feng's experimental novel Hushtopia (噓托邦) was published in October 2023. It tells of an explorer who dies when trying to escape from a palace that he has mistakenly entered in the desert. His experience then attracts others to visit the desert and start their adventures. In the story, Jiang Feng adopts various cultural elements including Chinese classics such as the Yijing, Shijing, Book of Han, Journey to the West and Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, as well as the paintings of Manet, Caravaggio, Odilon Redon and Anselm Kiefer to reproduce the aura of classical art....

The HKMU Trilingual Toastmasters Club formed by students of the School of Education and Languages (E&L) attained the Distinguished Toastmasters Club label for 2022–2023 awarded by Toastmasters International. The recognition is part of Toastmasters International's Distinguished Club Program, which sets ten goals for individual clubs to achieve during the year. It requires that club members keep making progress in its education programmes, the club maintain a healthy membership base, club officers receive sufficient training and club administration be properly managed. Electronic and Computer Engineering student Ramsha Minhaj took her invention Brain Computer Interface Feedback System for Dementia Patients to Innovate for Future 2023, and it received a Certificate of Excellence under the Tertiary Stream. Professional accounting students awarded scholarships by HKICPA
Professional accounting fresh graduates Frank Mao Haoyu and Jessie Liu Jiayang were each presented with a Qualification Programme (QP) Scholarship by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) at the QP Top Student Award and Scholarship Presentation Ceremony for the December 2022 and June 2023 Sessions. The QP Scholarships are awarded to final-year accounting students with excellent academic performance, encouraging them to pursue an internally recognised accountancy qualification. Every year, a maximum of 20 scholarships are handed out to undergraduate students all over Hong Kong....

Creative Writing and Film Arts student works published in Hong Kong Literature Bimonthly
The works of three students of the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Creative Writing and Film Arts programme were recently published in a local literary magazine Hong Kong Literature Bimonthly. The three year two students: Chan Chung-hang, Lo Sing-tung and Lam Ka-yi were passionate about literary writing and their creative works “Wrong Number (打錯了)”, “Goodbye, Chi-hang (再見之行)” and “Nobody knows (不為人知)” respectively were published in the magazine's “Students' Works Selection of 'Hong Kong Metropolitan University Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Creative Writing and Film Arts Programme'”....

HKMU students awarded HSBC Scholarships
HSBC offers a number of scholarships in recognition of local tertiary students with outstanding academic performance, helping them pursue ambitions in different areas. This year, six outstanding HKMU students have been named HSBC Scholars. They were awarded the HSBC Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) Scholarship, the HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship and the HSBC Vocational Education Scholarship.
