Innovative student project on building inspection snatches awards in three competitions

Four students from the School of Science and Technology (S&T) formed a team to participate in the IFMA Inter-Institutional Competition on Best Facility Management Project Presentation 2024 organised by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Hong Kong Chapter. Renowned writer Liu Zhenyun delivers a literary lecture to celebrate HKMU's 35th Anniversary and the opening of the Museum of Hong Kong Literature

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and the opening of the Museum of Hong Kong Literature, the School of Arts and Social Sciences of HKMU collaborated with the Museum of Hong Kong Literature to host a literary lecture on 27 May. Renowned writer Liu Zhenyun was invited as the keynote speaker. Themed “Master Lecture: The Philosophical Essence of Literature”, the event featured Liu's sharing of his insights on literature, which greatly enriched the literary and artistic ambience on the occasion....

HKMU alumna snatches Queen of the Buns title again

Nursing graduate Janet Kung Tsz-shan is passionate about sports. She has been participating in the Cheung Chau Bun Scrambling Competition since 2012. In 2019, she won the championship of the women's group and was crowned Queen of the Buns for the first time. This year, she scored 842 points, beating two other female finalists and triumphing again as Queen of the Buns. She was also the highest scorer among all contestants in the competition....

Two HKMU students awarded For Our Future Scholarship

Nursing student Cherie Fung Pui-wing and physiotherapy student Tammy Tam Ka-hei each received the For Our Future Scholarship from the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation. Cherie is an archery coach who is devoted to promoting mental health through teaching archery to others, while Tammy has established the “Fighting Cancer Platform” with her own anti-cancer experience to support patients by organising events and workshops and providing relevant information. With their outstanding academic performance and active participation in community service, they stood out among 250 applicants from 13 local institutions. They were each awarded a scholarship of HK$50,000 and the opportunity to participate in a Beijing exchange trip....
