Show of talents in Hong Kong Techathon+ 2024

46 HKMU students formed various teams to participate in the Hong Kong Techathon+ 2024, a large-scale innovative and technology event co-organised by the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and ten local universities. In between, the team Bit-time formed by five HKMU students and three students from other local universities was shortlisted among 250 participating teams, and eventually received a Merit Award in the category of the Local Student Group under the area of Smart Cities....

School of Nursing and Health Studies receives volunteer service award for promoting HA Go app

From May to September 2023, the School of Nursing and Health Studies (N&HS) collaborated with the Health Resource Centre of the Prince of Wales Hospital for a “HA Go” Ambassador Service Programme aimed at encouraging patients to install the mobile app “HA Go”, which connects patients beyond hospital care and enables patients to manage their own health. HKMU launches a University-wide student mental health enhancement scheme, earmarking over $10 million to support students' mental health

There have been a number of tragic student suicides in Hong Kong in recent months, which has raised great concern in society about the mental health of students. In response to the Education Bureau's advocacy of promoting mental health awareness among students, Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) will earmark over HK$10 million in a three-year university-wide scheme to enhance student mental health (the Scheme), whose aim is to enhance students' understanding of and concern about mental health. By providing further education on psychological well-being, the Scheme aims to empower students to engage in self-help and in helping others, which may help reduce the potential risks....
