HKMU launches new career readiness programme to enhance students' soft skills in the workplace
The conference is organized by the OUHK, co-organized by the Association of Hong Kong Nursing Staff, and sponsored by the Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme set up by the Hong Kong Government and Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation. To deepen the understanding of gerontechnology among the industry and the public, and to enhance the quality of life and independence of the elderly, over ten renowned overseas scholars and local experts will be invited to present their research findings and to share their knowledge and clinical experience on the development and use of gerontechnology, as well as its applications in elderly care services.
In view of the aging population and the growing demand on healthcare services in Hong Kong, the OUHK embarked on a new campus development project in 2017 to build the OUHK Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare. The new campus, which commenced operation in early November, is well designed with state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities and spacious student amenities. It will not only provide a conducive environment for all OUHK students to pursue their studies, but will also act as a hub for developing community initiatives to promote the health and well-being of the general public. The Institute will be home to a suite of academic programmes that aims to nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals to address community needs.
The conference and workshops will be conducted in English and Cantonese respectively. Admission is free. Eligible participants could also obtain 11.5 Continuing Nursing Education points. To register or learn more about the conference, please visit the website: http://icg2020.hkmu.edu.hk .
