HKMU launches new career readiness programme to enhance students' soft skills in the workplace
The Council of The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has approved the new title ‘Hong Kong Metropolitan University’ (香港都會大學) for the University and the process of amending the ordinance governing the University has been started and formal approval from the Legislative Council (LegCo) will be sought. The new title will only be adopted after formal approval by LegCo. The new title marks the beginning of a new phase for the OUHK. To celebrate this important milestone, the University invites creative talents from all members of the OUHK community and the general public to participate in its University Logo Design Competition and submit designs for a new logo.
The judging panel of the competition will comprise members of the University’s senior management, representatives of Court, Council and the OUHK community, as well as professional team of the Department of Creative Arts. All entries will be assessed by the judging panel based on the criteria such as the ability to convey the underlying message of the new title, the uniqueness, originality, scalability, reproducibility, etc. Each participant is allowed to submit a maximum of three entries. The closing date for submission is 19 February 2021 (Friday).
The grand winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of HK$50,000 while the first runner-up and the second runner-up will receive a cash prize of HK$30,000 and HK$20,000 respectively. The winning results will be announced on the University's retitling website and Facebook in March 2021. Winners will also be notified by email individually.
