Co-organized by the Department of Humanities, Languages and Translation of School of Arts and Social Sciences and Tin Ka Ping Centre of Chinese Culture, an online seminar was held on 16 December. Dr Tsui Wai, Associate Professor of Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, was invited to speak on Chi poetry of the Qing dynasty. Dr Tsui is an expert and critic in traditional Chinese poetry. She shared her views on how and why poets in the late Qing dynasty and mid-20th century made use of traditional formats of Chi poetry to reflect on drastic social change and express their feelings and aspiration. The talk was well received with about 90 participants.
